CABO Yachts 2013 Range

SNO YACHTS image Cabo 32 Express
It should come as no surprise that CABO Yachts are found virtually everywhere in the world where great game fish are pursued. Whether you’re wrestling with a marlin or a wahoo, the 32 Express is designed with the specialized needs of the serious sportfisherman in mind. Proven to be the most difficult design aspect of any sportfisher less than 35 feet in length, proper hull balance is what sets the CABO 32 apart from its competition. The CABO Yachts team worked in conjunction with award-winning Michael Peters Yacht Design to create a boat that would prove to run equally and exceptionally well at elevated or trolling speeds. The hull of the 32 Express is remarkably well balanced, providing a drier, faster and smoother ride than its competition ever thought possible.

Emerging from the acclaimed ranks of the CABO lineup comes the CABO 36 Express. Designed for sportfishermen looking to seriously “bring the fish up,” its interior space delivers exceptional room and comfort. Its superior hull balance allows the 36 Express to cleave rough seas, glide comfortably over large waves, stir up less spray and move through the water with minimal hull resistance. Like all CABO’s before her, the 36X’s primary mission is to meet the needs of serious anglers looking for a boat that is tough enough to match their every challenge.

The 38 Express has been a winner since its introduction in early 2007. And just like the rest of the fleet, the 38 Express offers an amazing fishing experience from your very first excursion. However, this sportfisher offers all the punch of one of CABO’s larger boats in a smaller package, while the design and construction is no less detailed or well planned than the other CABO vessels. High-tech laminating techniques, using vinylester resins bonded with stitched biaxial reinforcement, make her strong and mighty, while the vacuum-bagged core keeps her light and agile. This intermediate-sized boat truly offers the range and performance the serious sportfisherman demands.

SNO YACHTS image Cabo 40 Express
Imagine the perfect express sportfisher. She must be fast – fast enough to be first at the grounds and make the most of an early bite. To be fast, she must be strong – well built and powered with high performance diesel engines in order to sustain high speeds over long distances and be comfortable for passengers and crew. The hull design must be guided by the hands of naval architects with a history of highly successful designs and an eye for heart-stopping lines. The sportfisher must be a CABO 40 Express.

SNO YACHTS image Cabo 40 Hard Top Express ***NEW MODEL***
CABO Yachts is proud to announce the newest member of its sportfishing fleet, the 40 Hardtop Express. Scheduled to debut this fall at the 2011 Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show, the 40 HTX follows in the footsteps of the revolutionary 44 HTX that debuted at the same show last year. Built upon the same proven foundation as the 40 Flybridge and its predecessor, the 40 Express; the new model provides the strength and maneuverability of a CABO, while delivering the comfort on deck provided by an integrated hardtop.

The approval granted by enthusiasts and editors alike, has established the success of the 44 HTX. On a never-ending quest to reach perfection -- sometimes, in order to go forward, we must first go back. While the 44 HTX has been a successful model, the new 44 EX speaks to the desires of traditionalists who prefer the allure of a "true" express. The 44 EX delivers the open feel and style of a traditional express, paired with the fishability and comfort found aboard its older sibling. CABO owners and anglers around the globe who prefer the express model -- especially in new and emerging markets for CABO -- will find up-to-date performance standards in this new offering. With its Michael Peters designed hull, the 44 EX offers the same incredible performance and handling as the 44 HTX. Graceful sea-keeping attributes are evident, whether trolling a beam sea, or making a run to the scales with a trophy winner.

This impressive new design is unlike any CABO that has come before. The integrated hardtop signifies the next step in express design evolution for CABO, utilizing its three-sided enclosure to offer better protection for the elements, improved visibility, and greater comfort on the helm deck. Below deck, the interior offers a comfortable living space equal in size to the CABO 45 Express it replaces and larger than competitor's models in this range. The most dramatic difference in the layout is the addition of either an optional second stateroom, or an angler's room. This extra space allows for easy interior storage of fishing gear or the comfort of a private stateroom away from the master. Another unique touch is the full-length galley counter against the aft bulkhead, making access to appliances easier while creating more floor space in the living/dining area. The master stateroom and shared head are forward of the main living area and offer the comfort and amenities in keeping with the next generation of CABOs.

SNO YACHTS image Cabo 52 Express
From the CABO fleet of state-of-the-art sportfishers, emerges our flagship, the CABO 52 Express – our largest model yet. Designed and manufactured with the same attention to detail for which the company is known, the 52 Express includes meticulously executed naval architecture and hull design, coupled with CABO’s widely recognized penchant for sumptuous-yet-practical interior layouts, unparalleled systems engineering and high-tech fabrication. The 52 also carries substantial weight aft, providing hull balance that provides superior performance and ride characteristics. All of this results in a hull that is not only well balanced, but runs smooth, fast and remains remarkably dry.

SNO YACHTS image Cabo 38 Flybridge
When designing a vessel to be used throughout the waters of the world where fishing is more a way of life rather than just a hobby, you must take several factors into consideration. The engines must be powerful – powerful enough to get out to the grounds long before anyone else. The cockpit must be stocked – stocked with big-time amenities ensuring the needs of all anglers onboard are met. The interior must be fisherman-friendly – outfitted with sumptuous-yet-practical appointments and high-quality accommodations. And the boat must be strong, agile, and of course, completely seaworthy.

SNO YACHTS image Cabo 40 Flybridge
When CABO Yachts first introduced the CABO 40 Flybridge, reviewers throughout the sportfishing industry agreed that CABO Yachts had once again hit the nail on the head. According to Brian Kovach of Motorboating Magazine, the 40 Flybridge “is a pelagic powerhouse. It has warrior prince aesthetics, mustang velocity and a wave busting bottom that does for choppy seas what a martini does for dinner with the inlaws.” The CABO 40 will prove to be everything you could imagine in your dream sportfishing machine.

Emerging from the acclaimed ranks of the CABO fleet comes our largest model yet, the CABO 52 Flybridge. The 52 Flybridge is built on the same foundation as the popular 52 Express. Superior hull balance allows the 52 to cleave rough seas, glide comfortably over large waves, stir up less spray and move through the water with minimal hull resistance. Like all CABO before her, the 52 is designed and built specifically to meet the needs of offshore fishermen looking for a boat that is tough enough to meet their every challenge

EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN YACHT RALLY 2012

EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN YACHT RALLY

MARCH 2012 NEWSLETTER

It is now nearly a month till the commencement of the 22nd EMYR and we have received and answered many questions from EMYR2012 participants. Dave & Kath have invited Hasan & Faruk to N. Cyprus to have a meeting and talk about the different issues on 20 – 21 March 2011. We have visited Transportation Ministry office in Lefkoşa –Nicosia, Girne Delta Marina & Karpas Gate Marina. This newsletter will explain the update information that we have received from the N. Cyprus authorities and from the other countries and also give you some general answers to your questions concerning EMYR2012.
Safety; You will obviously be having some concerns about the safety issues in visiting those Middle East countries that have been the subject of conflict during the past few months. We are continually monitoring the situation both in conjunction with our representatives in the country and the relevant embassy’s as much s we can. We believe at the moment it is safe to visit all the ports in the programme but we will adapt our sailing passages as or may be required before or during the rally. The Rally Committee is continually monitoring the political situation in the Middle East. We will make appropriate decisions to ensure the enjoyment of the Rally as and when the situation and the time draw nearer. We have received the positive reports for the safety from the EMYR Representatives in Israeli Marinas/Ports and they all are looking forward to welcoming the EMYR Yachts in their ports & marinas. There are endless talks in Cyprus Island between Greek & Turkish Cypriot communities and they are working hard to achieve a positive solution, there is no safety issue in N. Cyprus at all. Lattakia marina in Syria has reported that the inflation in the country is 30% and the charges related to the Rally are due to the change. Our reply is to consider us as their special guest and keep the charges as minimum as possible. EMYR Lebanon representatives Michel Naufal & Jean Phillipe El Khazen, ATCL Club Management Board Members, have reported that Lebanon is fine and safe for EMYR2012 visit. Yves Belleli, Carmel Club Commodore and his deputy Ilan Doron is happy that we will visit their club marina as usual and they are planning even better welcome than last years. Our representative Nagib and the Felix team are organising all for our arrival as usual and they will report if all is fine at Port Said.

Tours; We are working on a regular tour programme and we are awaiting final details from all the harbours including Turkish ports & marinas, N.Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt. The tour details and the prices will be announced on the EMYR web site. There are already charges for the last year tours and last year information will remain in red colour letters. The updated information for 2011 will be in black colours

EMYR Programme & Participants List; Attached is the provisional programme for 2011 and the latest list for the participants is announced on the web site. The Provisional Programme is due to the changes related to the latest developments. We have one more column for some of you have sailed with the rally in previous years (R – Repeating).  You may have the updated list on the EMYR web site always. This program is confirmed by the most of the harbours except Girne, N.Cyprus.
North Cyprus; We have received the confirmation of our possible visit at N.Cyprus – Girne. A small part of the harbour is reserved for the EMYR yachts and Delta Marina will provide small number of berths. There will be a short visit by boat to the New Karpas Gate Marina 50 NMiles east of Girne.
Visa; There are visa charges in Syria and our host is working hard to eliminate for the rally participants. There are no visa charges in N. Cyprus or Israel. There will be a tax per person in Lebanon and Egypt. Please see the information on the web site.
Entry – Exit Charges; There is no charge in Turkey on departure at Mersin and no charges for N. Cyprus. Please see the information for entry – exit charges on the EMYR web site for the other 4 countries.
Transitlog; The expiry date should be after EMYR departure from Mersin, 27th May 2011 and the last port should be registered as Mersin.

Crew: There are NINE (9) overnight passages after Alanya. Do you have adequate crew? We realize that this is an ambitious schedule of passages and tours but necessary in order to not inconvenience the local fishing boats and yachts owners. Tired crew can lead to short tempers and intolerance and would defeat the purpose of the Rally. We have an experience that also unknown crew can be a problem. Take people you know very well and really get on very well as a crew for the long Rally program.
Crew List; There are still some yachts that their crew list is not completed. Please complete as early as possible. Urgent.
Shirt sizes: Please e-mail to EMYR Secretary with shirt sizes for crew (S, M, L, XL, XXL) if you haven’t done it yet.

Passport pages of the crew with photo and personal information & Ship registry pages should be scanned and e-mailed to committee by the end of April 2011. Please check that you haveNO Israeli stamp or any other connection to Israel in your passports, otherwise you will be refused to enter Syria & Lebanon.
New Passports; Please inform if there is a new passport for your crew. The list of the total EMYR participants should be 100% correct with passport details including passport numbers.
Insurance: For your own benefit, it is wise to check with your yacht insurance agency about coverage in some of the Eastern Med countries since they may be on the company's list of 'war territories. We recommend that you receive written confirmation from your insurance company that you are covered in these counties. Other participants have received approval by sending their company a letter of request for coverage explaining that we are a large group, that this is the 22nd year for this rally.
Reservation at the Marinas; If you are arriving at a port before the designated Rally time, staying longer or returning after, you must have reservations! And pay the agreed upon fees. Some marinas will have special rates for yachts returning after the Rally depending on the length of your stay. Please contact the marina managements individually.

Return to Turkey; Many of you will stay in Israel at least for few weeks to discover the Holy Land and also to visit Jordan. Some of you will sail to N.Cyprus or southern Cyprus marinas or direct to Turkish mainland in groups and some alone. It is always good to sail in company. Monastery bay in N.Cyprus, on the southern side of the Karpas peninsula is an ideal stopover place in nature. You will love the place.
Dave and Kath highly recommend this anchorage don’t miss out the visit to the small restaurant on the cliffs above.

Where to stay after the rally; Herzliya is a beautiful well organised marina to leave your yacht while travelling inland. info@herzliya-marina.co.il Second option is Ashkelon Marina with less expensive charges. marin_nm@netvision.net.il You can contact them for reservation. You are always welcome to stay at Alanya Marina after the rally if you need a berth to fly home for couple of weeks or months. reservation@alanyamarina.com.tr
Visiting Lebanon or Syria after the Rally; You have to visit Cyprus, either north or south and after sail to Lebanon or Syria.  The authorities at these countries will question whether your last port is one of the Israeli Marinas/ports. You have to prove with your passport or a piece of document from Cyprus Immigration or harbour authority that you are coming from Cyprus not from an Israeli port.
Pets; It is fine to have dog or cat on board. The problem is you can’t take them with you while touring in the buses. There are two times two days tour in Syria & Egypt. You can’t take them to the hotels. There is quarantine system in N. Cyprus but no trouble if we don’t report that we have a dog/cat on board.
Children ; There have been always children in the rally. They have enjoyed the entire rally even if there are no other children. EMYR Rally will be a life time experience for any child. We don’t charge the children if the age is less than 12 years old and full charge for the above 12 years. There will be some discounts on the tour charges for the children if we can convince the tour operators.
Dress ; There will be many dinners and nearly all will be Jacket and Tie dinners. The ladies will have their best dresses. We will have the Pirate Party at Girne so don’t forget to make your pirate out fits. Don’t forget to bring comfortable walking shoes for the tours.

Difficulties but don’t complain please; After Alanya, there are some ports like Mersin, Port Said where there may be some water and power connections, very primitive sanitary facilities or non. Lattakia has some services but it is not a proper marina but only place where we can keep our yachts. There will be double tier. The rally yachts will be packed in Jounieh & Haifa. There is not much that the committee can organise. There will be marinas that the yachts will raft alongside one another. You may have to cross 10 yachts in Haifa to go ashore and they may pass along your deck. Please don’t complain because of the limited facilities or no facilities at the ports that we will visit and the people walking on your deck.

Water; You will find a way to fill your tanks but you would better have bottled water for drinking.
Fuel; There will be always option to refuelling by pump at the quay side, by tanker or by jerry canes. We always recommend spare fuel filters.
Flags; Please inform if you need the national flags for N. Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Israel & Egypt. We can buy them on your behalf and you will receive and pay at your entry port.
New Marinas; We will visit New Kaş Marina, New Karpas Gate Marina & New Mersin Marina.
Rally Groups; There will be 6 groups after Kemer & Alanya meetings and every group will have a group leader. Groups will be formed according to the length over all and group changing inquires will not be accepted.
Volunteers; Medical people are required to inform themselves to the committee as there can be urgent situations. The names will be kept confidential. The musicians are very welcome to announce their names to the groups.
Joining Ports; There are 76 yachts listed as 2 yachts are cancelled their participations for different reasons and there will not be new yachts acceptance for EMYR2012. Please check your joining ports on the attached list and inform the committee if there is any mistake. The Emyr Yachts that have declared their joining port as Martı Marina, should change to Göcek or a port further south. EMYR Rally can’t visit Martı Marina this year due to another Yacht organization and Datça Harbour can accommodate limited amount of yachts.
Cost Sharing Fee; Please complete the credit card payment form on the EMYR web site and return to info@emyr.org until the end of March 2011 either by internet or fax to 00 90 242 323 45 80. The cost sharing fee is 400 Euro per person. Please deduct 200 Euro non-refundable advance payment from your total cost sharing fee. Please don’t even ask the refund after 10th April 2011.
Update information; You can visit the web site of the rally to find information about the rally, ports, tours, and articles written by past Rally participants. The Rally Committee will be happy to respond to any of your questions if you can’t find the answers on the web siteWe would welcome your contributions to the memories section of the web site.
